Aid Types

There are many types of aid that can help you pay for college tuition, fees, books, internet access, computers, and more. Most are not required to be paid back. Scholarships and grants are free money, although some are based on income.

State programs like TN Promise, TN Reconnect, and HOPE include eligibility requirements such as GPA and community service activities. 

Federal programs like the Pell Grant are based on income and family financial circumstances.

Scholarships

Tennessee Promise and Reconnect allow a majority of Motlow students to attend tuition free. Additionally, the HOPE scholarship, Motlow Foundation scholarships, and national awards help fill the gaps in education expenses.

The Pell Grant and Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) are need-based programs that require satisfactory academic progress by the student.

Employer Plans

Employers often invest in their employees. One of the ways they do this is through tuition reimbursement or tuition assistance. Check with your employer’s Human Resources department.

Payment Plans

Motlow is happy to offer you alternative payment options. A deferral allows you to pay for college later. All you need to start is a down payment.

Computers and Internet

Got a computer with affordable Wi-Fi? Most students need a computer with internet to be competitive. In case you need one, here’s a national program called EveryoneOn. It helps you find low-cost internet and affordable computers in your area.

You can also find good deals on refurbished computers at companies like Gainsaver. Try looking for refurbished computers on Ebay and local listings on Craigslist.
