History
Studying history helps us understand and grapple with complex questions and dilemmas by examining how the past has shaped (and continues to shape) global, national, and local relationships between societies and people.
Motlow offers two concentrations options for history. The first is the Associate of Science (A.S.) Tennessee Transfer Pathway (TTP). The second option is the Associate of Arts (A.A.) TTP. Both options allow you to complete your degree at Motlow and seamlessly transfer to a four-year university in Tennessee. Completion of either option indicates the student has completed a course of study equivalent to the first two years of a bachelor’s degree.
As a student in Motlow’s history A.A. or A.S., you will not only have the opportunity to learn about Tennessee, the United States, and World History, but also to build effective written and oral communication skills. Motlow’s history students learn how to think critically and problem solve as well as how to apply this knowledge to real-world settings.
